Killarney National Park
Explore the National Park
Killarney National Park is 10,000 hectares of beautiful lakes and mountains and boasts one of Ireland’s finest ecosystems. Explore the park by walking, hiking, climbing, cycling, on a jaunting car or by horseback. Keep an eye out for the park’s most famous residents the red deer and all the other different types of wildlife within the park.
While in the park visit the grand Muckross House to see where Queen Victoria and Prince Albert once stayed! The house still contains original furnishings and decor from the time. After your tour, you can make your way up to Torc Waterfall or to the Killarney Valley which is steeped in history with pre-Christian ruins, monasteries, castles and many more sites to be discovered. Discover different trails depending on your desired skill level for hiking and even take a jaunting car tour!
Killarney’s lake views are a tour of themselves, but why not explore them even further? Why not make use of Killarney’s beautiful lakes and go on a guided boat tour to Innisfallen Island or the Bronze Age copper mines. Watch out for the White Tailed Sea Eagles that regularly fly over the lakes.
