Located only a few minutes drive from our 4 Star Killarney Hotel, Muckross House and Park is one of the best loved jewels in the Killarney crown of tourist attractions. It consists of the stunning Victorian mansion looking over Muckross Lake, one of three in Killarney. The house was built for the Herbert Family in 1839. The gardens were developed a few years later in the 1850′s to be enjoyed by Queen Victoria during her visit to Killarney in 1861.

Muckross Gardens have an extensive collection of rare and native trees and shrubs and include a rock garden, sunken garden and stream garden. There are many walk to enjoy around the estate with views of the mountains, the lake and the beautiful gardens.

There is also the Garden Restaurant an ideal place to relax and enjoy a bite to eat when exploring Killarney National Park and also a Craft Shop featuring the finest of local and traditional Irish products.
